The Winter Soldier, also known as Bucky Barnes, was a former soldier who had been turned into a cyborg assassin by the infamous organization HYDRA. He had been missing for decades, presumed dead, until he was found by the Avengers and brought back to the world of the living. However, the trauma of his experiences had left him cold and distant, and he struggled to connect with the people around him.
